NBRAM's Team Retreat on Chaoshan Nan'ao Island: A Journey of Unity, Fun, Fairness, and Responsibility

The first rays of morning sun broke through the mist, hitting the golden sands of Nan'ao Island. That’s where NBRAM’s team-building trip kicked off—right in the middle of this gorgeous spot surrounded by blue seas and skies. Over three days, it wasn’t just a break from the city hustle; it turned into a real-deal practice of the company’s core values.

**Unity: Sailing Together Through Challenges**

Day one started with a super fun sailing race that got everyone fired up. Teams from Marketing (“Innovator”), Tech (“Explorer”), and Admin (“Harmony”) were all ready to go. At first, teamwork was a bit rusty—the boats were wobbling all over the place. That’s when VP Terry spoke up: “Just like our systems need every part working smoothly, this boat’s no different!”

Then something unexpected happened: “Harmony” veered off course because of a sudden wind shift and almost hit some rocks. But instead of racing ahead, the leading “Innovator” slowed down and threw a rope to help them back on track. That gesture totally shifted the vibe—competition turned into collaboration, and all three boats ended up crossing the finish line almost side by side.

Around the campfire that night, everyone shared their takeaways. GM Yu wrapped it up perfectly: “Today showed us that real success isn’t about beating others—it’s about sticking together through anything. That’s NBRAM’s unity spirit: lifting each other up in good times, and having each other’s backs when things get tough.”

**Fun: Bonding Through Laughter**

On day two, Qing’ao Bay on the west side of the island turned into a total playground. During the “Sand Pyramid” challenge, teams had to build the tallest, sturdiest sandcastle with limited supplies. Fancy and Chen from Finance—who are usually super serious—got into a funny debate over the drainage system. But guess what? They accidentally designed a brilliant little water channel that impressed everyone!

Things got even livelier in the afternoon with a “Nan’ao Cooking Contest.” Colleagues who usually type emails or code were suddenly flipping pans and handling fresh seafood. Sales Director Earth even volunteered as the “mystery chef” for the “experimental” team. His “creative seafood stew” looked kinda wild but tasted surprisingly amazing—earning him the “Most Adventurous Dish” award.

You could really feel the walls between departments melting away. Fliex from Resources said it best: “These simple games let us see our coworkers in a totally new light. Real teamwork at work often starts with getting to know each other and having fun outside of work.”

**Fairness: A Level Playing Field**

What stood out throughout the retreat was how seriously fairness was taken. The planning team set clear, transparent rules from the start, and a fairness committee with reps from every department was formed to oversee everything.

During the “Island Navigation Challenge,” the Tech team got some side-eye for using a professional GPS device. The fairness committee called a quick meeting and found that, technically, it wasn’t against the rules—but it kinda went against the spirit of building basic survival skills. After an open discussion, they ruled: the team’s score would stand, but future rules would be made clearer.

Everyone appreciated how it was handled. Intern Zhao shared later: “Seeing even top leaders follow the rules and accept feedback—it really made me trust the company’s culture.”

**Responsibility: Caring for Nature and Community**

On the last day, a sudden rain shower changed the plans. Just as everyone was about to head indoors, someone noticed trash washed up on the beach. Ms. Zhou from HR suggested, “Since we’ve got time now, why not do something meaningful?”

The idea got a big yes. Teams formed naturally and started cleaning up along the coast. The Sales crew even built a mini app on the spot to track and sort the garbage. In two hours, they cleared three kilometers of shoreline and picked up over 150 kg of trash.

The best part? A local fisherman saw what they were doing and invited everyone to his farm, sharing why protecting the ocean matters. Inspired, NBRAM ended up starting talks with the Nan’ao community about a long-term marine conservation project.

**Back to Work, with a Fresh Vision**

On the way home, the sea glowed under the sunset. The bus was quieter than before—but in a good, thoughtful way.

At the closing ceremony, GM Yu said: “This retreat taught us to face challenges with unity, grow through fun, build trust with fairness, and give back with responsibility. These aren’t just themes for a company trip—they’re the foundation of NBRAM’s future.”

The sound of Nan’ao’s waves may have faded, but the energy from those three days is still buzzing in every NBRAM member’s heart. They brought back not just tans and great memories, but a deeper commitment to unity, fun, fairness, and responsibility. Back at the office, these values are already shining through—guiding NBRAM forward like a steady lighthouse, lighting up the path ahead.
